Sensata Foundation
The Sensata Foundation provides grants to fund specific programs/projects
An area of focus is STEM Education

In an effort to support the next generation of engineers, the Sensata Foundation is focused on funding non-profits that provide STEM education opportunities and ensuring equitable access for youth in grades K-12.
Key focus areas include:
Creating Equitable Access to Underserved Communities: Programs and initiatives that ensure all individuals, regardless of gender or socioeconomic status, have access to STEM-specific resources, services and programs. This includes providing greater accessibility to racial and ethnic minority groups, students with disabilities and girls in K-12, among other underrepresented groups.
Empowering Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving Skills: Programs that equip students with tools and resources to think creatively and independently to effectively address challenges or problems.
Furthering Education & Career Opportunities to Inspire Future Leaders: Programs that provide additional learning avenues (i.e., mentorships) that prepare students to further their educational growth in STEM-related fields.

UNESCO

Educational agencies, universities, research agencies, independent experts, NGOs, schools from European countries (with a priority focus on South-East Europe and the Mediterranean) are all eligible applicants.

Interested applicants are requested to submit all documents to Regional.Bureau-SC@unesco.org by 22 April 2024 by 23:59 (CET). Applicants may direct questions related to the preparation of the application to the same email address.

Humana Foundation
The Humana Foundation works to ensure seniors, veterans and school-aged children live connected, healthy lives by removing unnecessary barriers to health and healthcare. The Humana Foundation offers funding through various grant cycles each year and encourages organizations aligned with the Humana Foundation’s commitments to apply for grants through the online granting portal.

Regular Cycle – The Humana Foundation will open a grant cycle Apr. 1, 2024. This regular cycle provides more time for applicants who may need additional support in aligning around our mission and opportunities, while completing all neccessary steps. This grant cycle will remain open through May 10, 2024, at 3 p.m. EST.

FLORIDA

FPL Robotics Scholarship

Open to High School Seniors in Florida

The NextEra Energy Foundation is proud to provide a scholarship opportunity to reward FIRST® students whose experience has inspired their interest in an engineering or information management career. One $5,000, renewable scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior who has two or more years in an FTC or FRC program in FPL’s service area. A weighted cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required to apply and students must maintain a 3.0 GPA to renew each year, up to $20,000.

Before the award is paid out, the winning student must be accepted to an accredited four-year college or university majoring in information science (or related field) or engineering.

MASSACHUSETTS (BOSTON)
NBC Universal

NBC10 Boston (WBTS), NECN, Telemundo Boston (WNEU) and Comcast NBCUniversal today announced that its competitive grant challenge, the NBCUniversal Local Impact Grants, is returning in 2024 for its seventh year and will award $227,272 in unrestricted funds to eligible Boston-area nonprofits.

Eligible 501(c)(3) nonprofits can access more information and apply for NBCUniversal Local Impact Grants at localimpactgrants.com and the Spanish-language becasdeimpactolocal.com  today through April 19.

NBCUniversal Local Impact Grant categories include:

  1. Youth Education and Empowerment – In-school and out-of-school programs that equip youth with the tools they need to succeed, including STEM/ STEAM education and youth entrepreneurship.
  2. Next Generation Storytellers – Programs that promote access and develop pathways for emerging talent and youth voices from underrepresented communities to explore careers in arts, news, sports and entertainment.
  3. Community Engagement – Programs that enable individuals to engage and volunteer in their communities.

STEM Action Grants, Society for Science, Washington, DCThe STEM Action Grant program aims to bolster and support community-driven nonprofit organizations that are working to enhance the public’s understanding of science and to increase participation of underrepresented populations in STEM fields. Since 2016 the STEM Action Grant program has awarded over $828,000 to a total of 113 organizations wanting to improve access to STEM education.

SAXENA Foundation, Austin, TX

The Saxena Family Foundation is a privately funded, 501(c) (3) registered non-profit charitable foundation headquartered in Austin, Texas. The Foundation awards grants and supports programs that have a particular focus on S.T.E.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) education and around empowering women in the United States and in India.
The Foundation anticipates most grants will be in the $5,000-$50,000 range.

Grant applications can be submitted throughout the year, and are reviewed by the Selection Committee as they are received.

The Foundation accepts grant proposals from qualifying nonprofit organizations that serve the Greater Twin Cities, Greater Atlanta or Greater Kansas City area in which Deluxe facilities are located. National-level non-profit organizations are also encouraged to apply. One of the Grant Focus Areas is Education, Entrepreneurship & Empowerment with an emphasis on the Focus Areas of STEM/STEAM, Women’s/Entrepreneurs Organizations, and the Achievement Gap

Summer Academies in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math

Colleges and Universities around OklahomaAttention rising 8th-12th graders in Oklahoma:

Apply to a FREE Summer STEM Academy in Oklahoma. This summer, spend time at an Oklahoma college or university and discover the fascinating worlds of robotics, drones, renewable energy, engineering, environmental conservation and much more!

Students will experience college life while learning on college campuses through the residential and commuter academies.

There are 17 academies at 14 different colleges or universities across the state of Oklahoma. ALL FREE.

Park City Education Foundation

Express Grants (Ongoing $1,000 limit, Immediate Need)
Classroom Grants (due April 1 for next school year, up to $25,000)

  • Mission:  fund and support educator-powered initiatives that inspire all Park City students to reach their academic and lifelong potential.
  • Vision:  help launch well-prepared, curiosity-driven, creative problem solvers who are ready to meet tomorrow’s challenges.

Teachers who have bright ideas for how to encourage learning can now apply for a grant from the Park City Education.

FEBRUARY ROUNDUP

NATIONAL

National Lieutenant Governor’s Association STEM Scholarship Program 2024 APPLICATION PERIOD is open, February 1 – March 15, 2024! 

Teachers or project advisors in state-accredited public, private, or tribal pre-K – 12th grade schools may apply for a scholarship to further STEM education through a project, equipment, program, or curriculum.  Eight schools across the country will be awarded $1,000 each and four schools will be awarded $500 each.

NEW YORK
Orange and Rockland Utilities (O&R) plans to award $1,000 STEM Classroom Grants to as many as 50 educators at schools (pre-kindergarten through grade 12) and youth groups for the 2024-2025 school year in communities located within O&R’s service area.
The application process is now open. The STEM Classroom Grants Program application can be found online at  https://www.oru.com/en/community-affairs/teachers-students.  The proposal application must be received by O&R no later than March 31, 2024.  The grants will be awarded in May.

 

TENNESEE
Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) is accepting applications for its Education Grants program for 2024, offering $30,000 in grant funding for teachers in five East Tennessee counties.
Educators should complete and submit an online proposal at https://orausurvey.orau.org/n/educationgrants.aspxAll proposals are due by 5 p.m. April 19

 

TEXAS
Armed Forces Communications & Electronics Association International (AFCEA), Alamo Chapter
The Alamo AFCEA Scholarships and Grants program oversees the Alamo AFCEA Education Foundation (AAEF), a certified 501(c)3 Chapter-affiliated organization. AAEF is dedicated to promoting Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines at all academic levels. 
 

The Teaching Tool Grants provide additional funding for educators to purchase classroom STEM tools. AAEF requests the tools are durable and reusable.

K-5 = $750
6-9 = $1000
