AFCEA Educational Foundation Gravely & Paige Grants for STEM Teachers FY25
The AFCEA Educational Foundation provides funding to U.S. elementary or secondary/intermediate schools to promote STEM innovation in the classrooms. Grants will be up to $2,000 for awarded STEM programs/projects.
To be eligible, teachers applying for the grant must be teaching a science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) subject at a elementary or secondary/intermediate school in the United States and be a U.S. citizen. Teachers working in schools with economically disadvantaged students will be considered first. The awards are available to public and private schools.
Grants are awarded on a rolling basis.
SAXENA Foundation
The Saxena Family Foundation is a privately funded, 501(c) (3) registered non-profit charitable foundation headquartered in Austin, Texas. The Foundation awards grants and supports programs that have a particular focus on S.T.E.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) education and around empowering women in the United States and in India.
The Foundation anticipates most grants will be in the $5,000-$50,000 range.
Grant applications can be submitted throughout the year, and are reviewed by the Selection Committee as they are received.

National Lieutenant Governor’s Association STEM Scholarship Program 2024 APPLICATION PERIOD is open, January 27 – March 7, 2025
NLGA annually awards a scholarship to 12 different schools for STEM-related projects in the classroom. Teachers or project advisors in state-accredited public, private, or tribal pre-K – 12th grade schools may apply for a scholarship to further STEM education through a project, equipment, program, or curriculum. Eight schools across the country will be awarded $1,000 each and four schools will be awarded $500 each.

Society for Science
STEM Action Grants
The Society’s STEM Action Grant is designed to award innovative organizations using creative solutions to do work that supports our mission—work that takes action to inform, educate and inspire people from all walks of life to pursue scientific endeavors.
Please complete this application to tell us about your organization and the work you do, and how the Society’s funding will support your goals. Our external evaluators will review all submissions after the deadline and applicants will be notified in about 4-6 weeks. Funding decisions are at the discretion of the Society. Letter of inquiry should include: information about your school/district (include demographics such as socioeconomics, ethnicity, and extenuating circumstances), a brief description of the request and amount of grant request, including a very general budget overview.
Funding priority is K-12 programs/projects that will directly impact students, with a preference for funding projects in schools serving a lower income population.
NEW MEXICO
Albuquerque Public Schools Education Foundation
Award amount: $3,000
APS staff at any school or department are eligible to apply, even if they have received a previous grant. The money can be for a wide array of projects or initiatives.

WEST VIRGINIA
Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley: Expand Energy STEM Grants
Maximum award amount: $1,000
Grants available to K-12 teachers in Brooke, Ohio, Marshall and Wetzel county schools for projects that incorporate STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) concepts into the classrooms.

Randy Schilling STEM Educators Grant
Available to K-12 teachers in St. Charles County
Award amount: $1,000
This program is open to K-12 classroom teachers at public and private schools in St. Charles County, Missouri. Community organizations (YMCA, Boys and Girls Clubs, etc.) are also eligible to participate. Winners will be selected by the EDC Partners Education Committee, which is comprised of representatives from local public and private schools, as well as local business and civic leaders.
Successful submissions will:
- Grab the imagination of students while laying the groundwork for future careers in STEM fields or later STEM coursework.
- Explain how they would use the funding in their classroom.
- Request materials for innovative STEM activities that can be easily incorporated into a classroom setting.
- Request funding for materials not currently in the teacher’s budget or utilized in their current curriculum.
Priority will be given to requests for materials that can be used in subsequent years and across multiple classes/grades.
If a project budget exceeds $1,000 applicants must advise how the balance will be funded.

INDIANA, MINNESOTA, OHIO, and TEXAS
CenterPoint Energy Foundation Community Vitality and Education Grant
Available to nonprofit organizations with addresses within CenterPoint Energy’s footprint. Priority consideration is given to programs that serve low- to moderate-income families and under-represented populations.
Key focus areas of Education grants:
- Quality Literacy Programs – Literacy and tutoring programs focused on early childhood through adult learners
- STEM Programs – STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) education programs targeted to under-resourced areas and/or under-represented populations; Digital device access
- Workforce Development – Programs addressing needs of our communities; credentialing programs providing skills for living wage jobs
Cycle 1: January 13 – February 14, 2025 (cycle closes at 11:59 p.m. CST)

HAWAII
Ke Alahele Education Fund
Award amount: $3,000
The Ke Alahele Education Fund was created by the Maui Economic Development Board to help local educators, individuals, parent groups and other organizations enhance student learning as well as augment their own professional development. The Fund’s goals are to:
- Support needs, actions and efforts in the STEM areas (science, technology, engineering and math) that enhance education systems and activities.
- Align education initiatives with Focus Maui Nui’s vision, values and strategies (see www.focusmauinui.com)
- Promote education experiences that meet or exceed the Hawaii Content and Performance Standards set by the Hawaii Department of Education
- Eliminate barriers to access tools that enrich educational opportunities in STEM

OHIO
City of Toledo Parks and Youth Services
Award Amount: $2,000 – $10,000
Focused on after school and summer programming for youth in areas of STEM, arts, literacy, or sports. The City of Toledo is seeking local programming partners prepared to advance the health and wellness of youth and young adults in Toledo through high-quality program offerings. Programs should provide opportunities to learn, be engaged, be active, and have fun. Those programs incorporating key mentoring goals and objectives, and those that work in collaboration with other programs, will be given additional consideration.
Application window: Jan. 7, 2025 – Jan. 27, 2025
Martha Holden Jennings Foundation
Maximum award amount: $3,000
Grants-to-Educators support the Foundation’s basic objectives of recognizing and encouraging outstanding classroom teachers in Ohio’s PK-12 public schools. Grants are available to teachers and administrators and are typically for classroom or school-wide projects.
Applicants will need to identify which of the following Deep Learning Aspects are central to your project:
- Developing students’ skills in critical reading, writing, research, and/or mathematics
- Developing students’ problem-solving skills
- Fostering students’ self-directed learning
- Engaging students to think as scientists, social scientists, and/or artists
- Engaging students in interdisciplinary learning
- Engaging students in meaningful problem or project-based learning

Albuquerque Public Schools Foundation:
Award Amount: $500 – $5,000
Classroom grants in the areas of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), fine arts and literacy, ranging from $1,500 for a single classroom and $5,000 for a team of multiple classrooms.
One Grant Cycle per year- September 3 – October 25
TENNESSEE
Consolidated Nuclear Security (CNS) is sponsoring a $5,000 grant for a science, technology, engineering, and mathematics classroom. The goal of the grant, designated for grades K–12, is to foster advancement of STEM activities in the classroom and to help develop Y-12’s future workforce. CNS manages and operates the Y-12 National Security Complex for the National Nuclear Security Administration.
Oct. 4, 2024. Educators who are immediate family members of Y-12 employees are not eligible to apply for or receive a grant.
Y-12 staff will evaluate the grant applications and make recommendations for grant allocations.
Grants will be awarded during Nuclear Science Week, Oct. 21–25, and all funds must be spent in the 2024-2025 academic year.
TENNESSEE (cont.)
The Tennessee STEM Innovation Network and STEMx network, managed by Battelle, are pleased to announce the 2021-22 K-12 classroom STEM grant program sponsored by the Tennessee Valley Authority in partnership with Bicentennial Volunteers Incorporated (a TVA retiree organization).

American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics
The AIAA Foundation believes that one of the most significant means to inspire and advance the future of Aerospace is to fund grants to meet the unmet and unfunded educational need of students. Each school year, AIAA awards grants of up to $500 to worthy projects that significantly influence student learning.
Grant Rules
- A clear connection to science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) with an emphasis on Aerospace must be included in the grant proposal.
- Applicants must be a K-12 classroom teacher with funds that will be paid to the school.
- Applicants must be current AIAA Educator Associate members prior to receiving this grant.
Educator Association membership information - Each school is limited to up to 2 grants per calendar year.
- Funds must be spent on the items proposed in the original application.
Funding will be considered for the following materials
- Classroom STEM demonstration kits
- Classroom STEM supplies
- K-12 STEM software
- Math manipulative materials
- Parts and supplies for making flying objects
- Parts and supplies for robotics programs

Ciena Teaching Grant
The Ciena Grants are established to support classroom teachers with the implementation of innovative and engaging science technology engineering and math (STEM) programs, activities, and technology (software and hardware) to promote learning and digital equality.
The Ciena grant program will award deserving teachers in the DC metro area, DoDEA schools, and schools in all 50 states with grants up to $3,000. The grants will be applied toward materials and resources to support STEM programs and activities. Schools with high economic need (over 50 percent of the students qualifying for free or reduced lunch assistance) will be given priority consideration to support digital equality. Innovative distance and virtual learning projects and programs will be considered.
Applicants must:
- Currently be teaching science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) in grades K-12 in the United States or at any DoDEA school.
- Currently be teaching in one of the specific areas supported by the grant: DC metro area school, DoDEA school, or in any of the 50 US states.

FPL Robotics Scholarship
Open to High School Seniors in Florida
The NextEra Energy Foundation is proud to provide a scholarship opportunity to reward FIRST® students whose experience has inspired their interest in an engineering or information management career. One $5,000, renewable scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior who has two or more years in an FTC or FRC program in FPL’s service area. A weighted cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required to apply and students must maintain a 3.0 GPA to renew each year, up to $20,000.
Before the award is paid out, the winning student must be accepted to an accredited four-year college or university majoring in information science (or related field) or engineering.

Armed Forces Communications & Electronics Association International (AFCEA), Alamo Chapter
The Alamo AFCEA Scholarships and Grants program oversees the Alamo AFCEA Education Foundation (AAEF), a certified 501(c)3 Chapter-affiliated organization. AAEF is dedicated to promoting Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines at all academic levels.
The Teaching Tool Grants provide additional funding for educators to purchase classroom STEM tools. AAEF requests the tools are durable and reusable.
